    Berlin venue YAAM addresses death of staff member

    Thursday, April 25th Michael Lawson "We're incredibly sad and deeply shocked that Noradeen Abdallah passed away on April 12th after an incident of violence at YAAM," YAAM wrote via Instagram. The 31-year-old died following an argument with two other YAAM employees. Both suspects were taken into police custody for identification and later released. Read the full story.

    New online digging tool recommends tracks based on similarity

    Wednesday, April 24th Carlos Hawthorn Launched earlier this month, cosine.club calls itself a "music similarity search engine." Users simply input a track title into the search bar and, if recognised, the engine returns multiple results. The database currently contains 1,152,633 tracks. Read the full story.

    MC Duke, UK rapper and hardcore pioneer, dies

    Monday, April 22nd Michael Lawson Pioneering UK rapper Kashif Adham, AKA MC Duke, released music on labels such as Music of Life and Shut Up and Dance Records, collaborated with Billy Daniel Bunter and Loop Da Loop, and performed at legendary rave spots like The Sanctuary in Milton Keynes.     Leeds club Wire to close after 18 years

    Friday, April 19th Tom Gledhill One of Leeds's longest-running clubs, Wire is closing down in June. The 300-capacity basement first opened in 2005.
