A new club is opening in Ibiza this summer.
Taking over the 1500-capacity Playa d'en Bossa space formerly home to Sankeys, Avyca teased its launch on Instagram earlier this week, with a post that read: "Chapter one. Coming soon."
The club's music director, Andrei Hancu, promised "high-spec production and world-class sound" in comments made to Mixmag. In terms of programming, he said Avyca will aim for "cultured lineups" and "a tasteful mix of intergenerational guests and residencies."
Avyca ran two trial events late last year, featuring artists such as Ferro, Tania Vulcano and Voigtmann. Forthcoming lineups are TBA.
Open from 2011 to 2018, Sankeys Ibiza was the sister venue of the legendary Manchester club of the same name, which closed in 2017. Since then, another Ibiza club, Octan, has been and gone on the same site.
